Promenergomontazh AD (PEM AD) is one of the longest continuously operating construction and installation contractors in Bulgaria’s energy sector. Today our focus is the design and construction of high-voltage facilities and battery energy storage systems — for ESO EAD, leading independent power producers and international partners.
Who we are
The full investment cycle — from concept to commissioning.
We deliver design, permitting, equipment supply, construction and installation works and commissioning as a turnkey main contractor. A large share of the facilities we build — foundations, substations, lines — are designed entirely with our own engineering capacity.
In recent years the company has focused on high-voltage facilities and battery energy storage systems (BESS) — today the principal driver of the group’s growth, including beyond Bulgaria’s borders.
Our own production of steel structures and foundation systems, our own machinery and our own crews on site let us control quality, schedule and cost — without depending on outside suppliers.

Founded in Plovdiv
Promenergomontazh starts as a specialised construction and installation company for the energy sector — substations, power lines, industrial energy facilities.
- 2020
Partnership with ESO EAD
The start of a series of projects to reconstruct and modernise the transmission operator’s substations — 110 and 220 kV switchyards, control buildings, connection bays.
- 2020 – 2021
400 kV power lines
Construction of a new 400 kV overhead line — towers No. 288 – 427, as main contractor for Lot 3.
- 2023 – 2024
Industrial construction and cable lines
A production centre for BTL Industries, 33 kV cable lines for PV plant grid connections, reconstruction of the 110 kV switchyard at “Iskar Industria”.
- 2024 – 2025
“Tenevo Solar” — MV/400 kV substation and 400 kV switching station
Our first complex turnkey project at 400 kV — the foundation on which the energy complex around Tenevo is being developed.
- 2025 – 2026
Battery parks at scale
Burgas Energy Complex — 150 MW / 601.7 MWh, Smolyan complex — 320 MWh, a series of 7 standardised 10 MW / 40 MWh parks, “Vetrokom” — integration with an operating wind farm.
- 2026
New projects — Bulgaria and Romania
Grid connection of the “Gabare” 400 MWp PV plant with a 1000 MWh battery, Isalnita (Romania) 158.6 MW / 634.4 MWh, Krivodol 34.5 MW / 104.5 MWh.

The equipment and the production base are ours — so we can mobilise a site within days and keep to the schedule.

Steel structures for substations (gantries, equipment supports, cable trays, lightning masts) and our own foundation systems for battery parks and PCS — from 3D model to installation on site.
Machinery
MAN and Iveco trucks (10 – 25 t), Liebherr, JCB and Komatsu construction machines, Metso / Lokotrack crushing and screening plant for construction-waste recycling.
Registrations and coverage
Chamber of Builders registration for construction categories I – V, DAMTN certificates, permits to operate in 14 regions of the country and experience with projects under foreign legislation (Romania).
